You would like this book if you like Humour Review: Amal is your average Australian-Palestinian girl living with her family in the suburbs of Melbourne. Her life is full of the typical worries - friends, family and school until she makes one of the biggest decisions of her life - to wear the hijab full time. The students at Amal's snobby prep school don't know how to react to her showing up one day wearing a hijab and Amal becomes the victim of relentless teasing and bullying. Instead of letting it get to her, however, Amal responds with sass, intelligence and a scathing sense of humour and remains steadfast to her beliefs despite the torment she receives at the hands of some of her peers. This is a funny, touching and inspiring story about a girl who stands up for what she believes in and how she transforms her school community by doing so. Comments are closed.
