Ebsco: Ebsco is suitable for students in Grades 9-12 and gives you access to several different academic databases for research.
Live IT: Live IT provides media and print resources suitable for Grade 6-12 on a variety of different topics.
JSTOR: JSTOR is suitable for students in Grades 10-12 and gives you access to scholarly articles and journals in the Humanities and Sciences.
JSTOR Global Plants: Global plants is the world's largest database of digitized plant specimens and is an excellent resource for international scientific research and collaboration.
Canadian Points of View: Canadian Points of View contains resources including articles, images and videos that are relevant to Canadian researchers and Canadian topics. With over 150 topics, each topic provides an overview text, a point text , a counterpoint text and a guide to critical analysis.
Novelist Plus: A database for book lovers that will give you book recommendations based on your reading preferences. It includes reviews, book lists and genre guides.
Literary Reference Center and Canadian Literary Centre: This database includes plot summaries, literary criticism articles and essays, author biographies, reviews, literary journals, poems, short stories and classic novels from thousands of Canadian and Literary sources.
Consumer Health Complete: This database includes information on many topics including medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.
Poetry and Short Story Reference Center: This database is a full text database that provides access to hundreds of thousands of classic and contemporary poems, short stories, articles, essays and reviews.
Gale Virtual Reference Library: This is a database of virtual encyclopaedias and reference texts from a variety of different disciplines.
Canadian Periodicals: This database provides access to Canadian and Canadian focused articles, periodicals, magazines and newspapers.
Global Issues in Context: Global Issues in Context is a database of articles, periodicals and primary sources offering international viewpoints on a broad spectrum of global issues and topics.
World Book Online: World Book Online offers digital access to the World Book Encyclopedias, as well as dictionaries and atlases all connected to school curriculum.
Britannica Library: Britannica library offers access to the Brittanica Digital Encyclopedia as well as a large collection of media sources.
Drama Online: Drama Online is a digital library that provides drama related research resources, play texts, filmed live performances, film adaptations, and audio plays.
Points to the Past: Points to the Past gives you access to primary source historical documents from a broad range of time periods and from several different databases. Points to the Past has been generously provided free of cost to BC school to be used for research and teaching purposes in a joint venture between University of Victoria Libraries, University of British Columbia Libraries and Simon Fraser University Libraries in collaboration with Gale.
